About Me

Hello! I’m Liz, an artist and creator passionate about bringing the beauty of nature to life through my work.

I have been what I call an amateur artist my entire life. As a child, I enjoyed crafts and picked up drawing before entering middle school. With some effort, I discovered I had a knack for drawing almost anything I saw, even if shading wasn’t my strongest area. In high school, I dabbled in painting and watercolors, mostly on my own, and took a couple of classes at the local community center.

While I loved art, I never considered becoming a professional artist, as my interests leaned towards the medical field. I volunteered every summer from 8th grade through high school as a candy striper at the local hospital. My focus in school was on math and sciences, and I thoroughly enjoyed health career classes that allowed me to rotate through different areas of the hospital, gaining hands-on experience while assisting the medical staff. During my time at community college, I continued volunteering in the hospital’s pharmacy.

Throughout those years, I spent my downtime drawing, painting, and even teaching myself some guitar chords, enjoying music with friends. Art was always a hobby that brought me great joy and peace.

After earning my associate's degree in general sciences, I began to rethink my career path. I eventually pursued a bachelor’s degree in multimedia communications, where I learned about graphic design, visual communication, and web design. However, before I could get my foot in the door in the graphic design field, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom—a decision I am incredibly grateful for. During this time, I had the opportunity to help design a few websites for my spouse’s business, putting my degree to good use!

Over the years, I explored various creative outlets, including weaving, hook rugs, and scrapbooking. I also loved making birthday cakes for my kids, designing them with their favorite characters. When I returned to work, I felt a bit out of touch with graphic and web design, taking on roles at my kids’ school and in customer service while figuring out my path.

A few years ago, I discovered the world of polymer clay, not realizing how therapeutic and fun it would become. As I learned new techniques, I became skilled enough to gift pieces to family and friends, who were astonished by my creations. Encouraged by coworkers and family to sell my pieces, I decided to take the plunge.

My work is inspired by the beauty of nature, reflecting glimpses of agate stones and various precious stones. Living in the Southwest United States, I look forward to creating pieces that capture the essence of this vibrant landscape. I hope you enjoy browsing through my shop as much as I enjoy making these unique pieces!
